The most popular type of power feed, floating feeds are used to provide power to the track from a ceiling or wall mount electrical box. They cover the box and can be added anywhere on the track except the very ends. Use end feeds in this situation. The floating feed is painted to match the track and is easy to install using normal home wiring. It can be used both over an electrical box or with just a wire coming out of the wall or ceiling. Without an electrical box, the metal plate needs to anchored to the ceiling.
